Today is a day that we, as a nation, remember. We remember the way we felt watching the news and hearing that terrorists flew passenger jets filled with innocent people into towering buildings in New York City – buildings filled with thousands more. We remember discovering how helpless and small, and more importantly, how precious and valued each life is. And most importantly, I remember how much courage was shown. How, in the face of such horrific events, so many people stood together, helped each other, and saved lives. No matter what your political and religious beliefs are, today is a day to remember how connected we all are. Today is a day to remember how precious we all are.
And today is a day to honor that.
